The National Health Service of Ukraine will conduct an unscheduled inspection at the Kyiv City Clinical Emergency Medical Care Hospital in July.
This information was released by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Health.
The National Health Service of Ukraine has scheduled seven unscheduled monitoring visits to healthcare facilities providing medical care under the Medical Guarantees Program during July. The capital’s emergency hospital is included in this list.
The commission will verify the completeness and accuracy of information entered into the electronic healthcare system regarding the volume of medical care provided, as well as the facilities’ adherence to infection control requirements.
The National Health Service of Ukraine will involve observers in the monitoring visits to ensure the openness and transparency of the process.
The Yahotyn Central City Hospital in the Kyiv region will also be among the institutions undergoing inspection.
What is known about the scandal surrounding the Kyiv City Clinical Emergency Medical Care Hospital
On June 9, a wounded serviceman, Serhiy Kuznetsov, died at the Kyiv City Clinical Emergency Medical Care Hospital.
Serhiy Hnezdilov, commander of the reconnaissance squadron of the 56th brigade, stated that the soldier died after “relatively minor shrapnel wounds,” and that medical negligence could have been the cause of the tragedy.
Following this, over 30 military personnel, veterans, volunteers, human rights activists, and journalists called for a full investigation into the circumstances of the fighter’s death and drew attention to previous complaints regarding the hospital’s operations.
The police have opened two criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 1 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – improper performance of professional duties by medical workers.
During 2025-2026, the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Health received seven official complaints regarding the improper organization of medical care at this medical facility.
On June 17, the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Health announced the early termination of the contract with the head of the Kyiv City Clinical Emergency Medical Care Hospital, Viktor Dorosh. He was dismissed from his position effective June 18. Dorosh himself stated that he disagrees with the decision regarding his dismissal and does not understand the specific grounds for this action.
On June 19, Mykola Ankin, Doctor of Medical Sciences and professor, was appointed acting director of this hospital.
